Orthopaedic Injuries

Even when bones heal, the disruption can be enormous — and the risk of early-onset arthritis often follows.

Orthopaedic injuries refer to broken bones and tears or strains to the tendons, ligaments, cartilage and muscles that support the bones. If you have suffered a serious orthopaedic injury, symptoms may persist long after the injury has healed. There is also often an increased risk of developing early onset arthritis at the site of the injury.

Even if the injury heals quickly, the healing process may result in a major interruption to your life. Limbs and joints are typically immobilized in a cast during the weeks required for a fracture to unite. This can interfere with one's ability to perform numerous everyday tasks. Assistance with hygiene, dressing, and feeding is often necessary.

There are a number of factors that may make the injury more costly and disruptive: complex surgical intervention involving the insertion of metal screws, nails, plates and rods; shoulder, hip and knee replacements; and the prolonged rehabilitation that follows.

At Wolfe Lawyers we have the expertise and industry connections to get you back on your feet as soon as possible. We work with physiotherapists, personal support workers, and other rehabilitation specialists specially trained to deal with these injuries.
